Worcester’s Higgins Armory Museum, the country’s only museum dedicated to the display of arms and armor, is for sale.
The museum at 100 Barber Ave. has chosen CBRE/New England to help sell the historic building and accompanying land. The building today went on the market. CBRE/NE is currently collecting proposals from prospective buyers that address the museum’s key considerations, including reuse of the existing building, financial return and enhancement to the community.
"We are pleased to bring the Higgins Armory Museum to market," CBRE/NE senior vice president and partner Bob McGuire said in a statement. "100 Barber Ave. is a unique and well-located asset in the city of Worcester that evokes a number of reuse options, which will appeal to an array of investors.
