Mohegan Sun says it’s in talks with Boston Mayor Martin Walsh’s administration, as state gambling regulators on Thursday will again take up whether the city should be named a "host community" for two casino proposals in the state’s eastern region.
A Mohegan Sun spokesperson confirmed the Wednesday meeting, but declined to elaborate further. A Walsh spokesperson did not immediately confirm the meeting.
A Wynn spokesman said the casino company remains interested in talks with the mayor, but said it does not have a meeting at this time.
Boston’s bid to be named a ‘‘host community” for Mohegan Sun’s proposal in Revere and Wynn’s proposal in Everett has been a major roadblock to awarding the eastern region casino license.
The designation would trigger a city referendum on the proposals.
