Allergan Inc. recently added 10,000 square feet to its facility at 200 Boston Ave. in Medford. The international healthcare company now occupies a total of 37,000 square feet of first-class office and laboratory space at the Cummings Properties-managed building.
California-based Allergan acquired local firm Serica Technology in 2010, and opted to retain its Medford location. Originally named Tissue Regeneration by founder and Tufts University alum Greg Altman, the firm has expanded four times since leasing 2,000 square feet at the same site in 2003.
Allergan develops and commercializes pharmaceutical products and medical devices such as Botox, Restasis and Lap Band. The Medford facility is focused on the development and manufacturing of SeriScaffold, a surgical mesh.
