Uber Technologies is relocating from Boston’s Seaport District to the Leather District, near South Station.
Uber Technologies, based in San Francisco, is an on-demand car service that allows users to request a ride via iPhone or Android applications, text messaging or the web.
The company is relocating to 186 South St. NAI Hunneman Senior Associate Ben Sutton brokered the 3,201-square-foot lease for Uber Technologies. The landlord, 186 Realty Trust, was self-represented in the lease negotiation.
Located near South Station, 186 South St. is a 38,000-square-foot office building with ground-floor retail space.
"We are very pleased to have helped Uber find top-quality space just outside of Boston’s trendy Innovation District," Sutton said in a statement. "Uber’s new South Street office has the added benefit of being close to the city’s Financial District and South Station, providing a prime location at an affordable lease rate."
