Gov. Charlie Baker and MBTA officials plan a press conference Thursday to outline long-term transportation spending priorities.

The governor’s team has been working for weeks on a transportation bond bill and he plans to announce its filing during a 12 p.m. press conference. The bill comes as Massachusetts residents are growing more heated about congestion and poor MBTA service.

Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito, Secretary of Transportation Stephanie Pollack, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Kathleen Theoharides and MBTA General Manager Steve Poftak plan to join the governor at the event in Room 157 of the State House.

According to the governor’s press office, the transportation bond bill will “invest in building and modernizing a transportation system that meets the needs of residents, businesses and cities and towns statewide.”
