Fall River-based BankFive on Thursday opened a new lending office, its first location in the town of Taunton.

Four lending specialists will work out of the office at 2093 Bay St., which is strictly a lending office and not a full-service branch.

In a statement, President and CEO Bill Eccles said BankFive had been getting increased business from Taunton, so the new office "made sense."

"We are excited to launch this new approach to lending, which is designed to provide superior service by eliminating the distractions of a traditional bank branch," he said in the statement.

"Our professionals now can meet the business owners and residents of Taunton in a quiet, relaxed setting, which means our lender can provide targeted advice and counsel while finding the loan that best fits the customer’s needs."

The bank also touted its lending specialists’ ties to the area. Harold Rose and Willitts Mendonca, the two commercial lenders who will work in the new office, and Mortgages Originator Daniel LeBrun are Taunton residents. Kenneth Nasiff, vice president and North Region market manager, lives in neighboring Raynham.
