More than 90 Berkshire Bank employees, including 50 in its two Bay State offices, will carry out several community service projects in the bank’s third annual company-wide community service day on Wednesday.
The service day projects will benefit nonprofit organizations and communities in Berkshire County and the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts, as well as locations in New York and Vermont, according to a statement. Massachusetts projects for the Pittsfield-based bank include painting picnic tables and benches in Burbank Park at Onota Lake and working with Rebuilding Together Inc. to carry out a number of repair projects at the home of a low-income family in Springfield’s South End.
"Volunteerism and investing in our communities are important parts of the culture at Berkshire Bank," said Berkshire Bank Foundation Executive Director Peter J. Lafayette. "Employees are enthusiastic about working with their co-workers on projects that benefit the community and feel they are making a difference in a meaningful way. We are proud of our employees for their commitment and dedication to making our communities better places in which to live and work."
