The Center for Life Science at 3 Blackfan Circle in Boston The Center for Life Science at 3 Blackfan Circle in Boston has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification, one of the highest certifications awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

William A. Berry & Son of Danvers was the construction manager for the recently completed center.

The Center for Life Science is located in Boston’s Longwood Medical Center and is surrounded by life science research institutions, hospital and bio/pharma companies, including Merck Research Laboratories, Harvard Medical School, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Children’s Hospital.

The 18-story center is the tallest building in the Longwood Area and includes laboratory, office and retail space. The center is owned by BioMed Realty Trust.
