ClevelandCircleBRAThe Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) is expected tonight to approve plans to redevelop the former Cleveland Circle Cinema near Boston College in Brighton.

The project, which will include a hotel, residential and retail space, is being developed by Boston Development Group. It has been in the works for several years, long receiving criticism from area residents. The theater at 399 Chestnut Hill Ave. has been vacant since 2008.

Changes to the development’s plans since its submission in March 2013 include eliminating the proposed office space, reducing the room count of the Hilton Garden Inn to 162 from 196 and increasing the residential unit count to 92 units from 74, according to a submission to the BRA.
