Joel J. Brickman, who has more than 20 years of legal experience, has joined Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank as general counsel.

Brickman recently served with a large regional banking institution where he worked in various senior capacities for 15 years, including the role of executive vice president, general counsel, secretary of the board and chief legal counsel-consumer and business banking, according to a statement.

"The senior management of the bank, in conjunction with the board of trustees, has done an excellent job coordinating efforts in the legal, regulatory, corporate governance and policy areas," said Dorothy A. Savarese, president and CEO. "The bank’s continued growth and increasing array of products and services, as well as the ever-evolving regulatory environment, supported the need to create a dedicated position to help coordinate these areas.
