Teresa M. Vieira and Timothy Chaves have been named compliance officer and commercial loan officer, respectively, at Taunton-based Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB).

Vieira will be based at the bank’s Taunton headquarters while Chaves will be working at the bank’s Pawtucket branch, the bank said in a statement.

As compliance officer, Vieira administers the bank’s compliance program, ensures that BCSB follows applicable federal and state consumer protection laws and statutes, and recommends and implements changes to support the prescribed requirements for compliance. Prior to her most recent appointment, Vieira worked at the bank for more than 11 years in a number of capacities, including compliance analyst, branch supervisor at the Taunton High School banking office and deposit quality control analyst.

Chaves’ responsibilities as commercial loan officer include developing new business while cross-selling the bank’s other products and services and assisting in the management of BCSB’s commercial loan portfolio. Previously, Chaves was a management trainee at the bank’s Taunton headquarters and the Pawtucket branch.
