Sandra A. BrockSandra A. Brock, chief engineer at Boston’s Nitsch Engineering, has been selected to serve on the U.S. Green Building Council, Massachusetts Chapter (USGBC MA) board of directors.

Brock, a 23-year civil engineering veteran, is the only engineering representative on the 19-person board, according to a statement.

Brock has been with Nitsch Engineering for 14 years and is well known for her expertise in the sustainable site design field, according to a statement. She has worked on green projects such as the Stata Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, the new Science Center at Stonehill College in North Easton and the Campus Framework Plan for Princeton University in Princeton, N.J.

Brock has presented at a number of conferences and industry events on sustainable site design and stormwater best management practices. She has also been an instructor for the "Site Engineering" course at the Landscape Institute at Boston Architectural College, and she currently serves on the Grafton Conservation Commission.
