The winners, Sarah Ghelli, of the Memorial School, and Andrew Rozak, of the McGovern School, made deposits during their weekly in-school banking days, which made them eligible to win the gift certificates, according to a statement. The School Savings Program, for students in first through fourth grades, teaches children the importance of saving money. It has been a part of Medway elementary schools for more than 10 years.

"We try to keep the School Savings Program exciting for the children by rewarding them with special incentives throughout the school year," said Charles River Bank Marketing Assistant Ashley Jolicoeur. "There are many more students who are asking questions about their deposits, where to sign a check and how to keep up with their transaction register. It’s a thrill to be able to help them build their financial fundamentals."
