BayCoast Bank

Swansea-based BayCoast Bank gave $10,000 to Project GOAL’s  initiative to build two mini soccer courts in the community of Central Falls, Rhode Island.

Cummings Properties

Woberun-based office landlord Cummings Properties gave $563,000 to 351 Boston-area nonprofits in surprise donations as part of its Cummings Community Giving Program. The recipients were selected via nominations from Cummings’ employees.

Davis Malm

Boston law firm Davis Malm held a firm-wide charitable drive to collect winter coats, hats and gloves for the children of in-patient service men and women at Bedford Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Forty-two coats and additional cold weather gear were donated to 26 families as part of the drive.

Dedham Savings Bank

Dedham Savings Bank gave $7,500 to Mass Insight Education & Research. This grant will be used to fund special programming aimed at supporting low-income high school students who are working to achieve Advanced Placement (AP) status

Greylock FCU

Pittsfield-based Greylock Federal Credit Union gave six unsuspecting nonprofits $10,000 each last week in response to the elevated level of need this holiday season. The six organizations are Elizabeth Freemen Center, Louison House, Construct, Brien Center, Berkshire Immigrant Center and Berkshire County Branch of the NAACP. The gifts are over and above the credit union’s normal community donations.

The credit union also donated $20,000 to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts’ emergency food delivery program in Berkshire County.

Hanscom FCU

Hanscom Federal Credit Union senior executives David Sprague, Kris Pender and Jim Potter recently participated in a virtual career exploration workshop hosted by Crossroads, a youth empowerment organization, and coordinated by HFCU’s social responsibility manager, Laura Galeski. The workshop, “Practicing Professionalism,” brought together 103 students from Crossroads’ C5 Leaders program and leadership from several Massachusetts companies to give students the opportunity to learn about and practice crucial skills from professionals.

HarborOne

Brockton-based HarborOne Bank donated $400,000 to 25 local nonprofits including NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.

Jack Conway & Co.

Norwell-based real estate brokerage Jack Conway & Co. sponsored a Christmas Day celebration that will bring food and gifts to more than 300 individuals experiencing homelessness in Southern Massachusetts. The company donated $10,000 to over holiday brunches and gift bags for emergency shelters run by Brockton-based social service agency Father Bill’s & MainSpring.

Webster Five

Webster Five donated $25,000 to the Worcester County Food Bank.
