A Colorado multifamily investor has paid $270 million for a 914-unit apartment complex in Norwood steps from the MBTA’s Franklin commuter rail line.

UDR acquired The Commons at Windsor Gardens from Windsor Gardens Propco LLC, which is a partnership of Braintree-based John M. Corcoran & Co. and an institutional investor. The property previously sold for $199 million in April 2017.

The Commons at Windsor Garden contains 682 flats and 232 townhouses, located in 77 buildings on a 58-acre site at 624 Walpole St., next to the Windsor Gardens MBTA station.

CBRE’s Simon Butler and Biria St. John represented seller and a private equity institutional partner, and procured the buyer.

Originally built between 1963 and 1968, the 100 percent market-rate community has average unit sizes of 832 square feet. Amenities include two outdoor pools, a gym, basketball and tennis courts and on-site daycare.
