A database aggregator plans to expand its presence in Ipswich with the purchase of the former Ipswich Chronicle building at 2 Washington St.
EBSCO Publishing will move into 19,000 square feet of office space, and said it sees the 90,000 square feet of land around the property as a potential site for a new, larger building if need be.
EBSCO President Tim Collins says as the company continues to create and acquire new products to serve the needs of researchers, the need for space also grows.
"Being able to expand within the town of Ipswich is the best of all possible solutions. The space will help us plan for future expansion while keeping our campus within the local environs."
Klemmer Associates, LLC, announced it was the sole broker. Sales price was not disclosed.
