Digital Federal Credit Union, known as DCU, has signed a deal with U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO.com), giving the Marlborough-based credit union a website presence and on-site branding when the men’s college hockey championships come to Boston in April.

The strategic marketing and sponsorship package that DCU announced this week will rebrand USCHO’s polls, one of college hockey’s best-known ranking tools, to DCU/USHCO polls.

Each Monday during the college hockey season, new polls will be released featuring the two brands, the statement said. The sponsorship had a soft launch on Dec. 13 with the release of the DCU/USCHO.com polls for Division I and Division III men’s and women’s hockey.

DCU, the state’s largest credit union, said it will also be the charitable sponsor for the 2022 Hockey Humanitarian Award, which annually recognizes college hockey’s top citizen.

“DCU is proud to partner with the USCHO on the presentation of the Hockey Humanitarian Award,” Ed Niser, DCU’s assistant public relations manager, said in the statement. “As a credit union, we pride ourselves on doing the right thing and making a difference in the lives of our members and their communities. These Hockey Humanitarians are community lamplighters. Both they and the USCHO embody DCU’s values in the charitable work that they perform.”

The USCHO has three weekly podcasts – USCHO Weekend Review, USCHO Spotlight and USCHO Game of the Week – and DCU will also be their presenting sponsor. The podcasts will include advertising spots for the remainder of the season, and each segment will be tagged with DCU messaging, the statement said.

The 2022 Frozen Four – the men’s NCAA hockey championship – is being held in Boston, and DCU will have extensive on-site presence during key USCHO events, the statement said. DCU will co-host a VIP reception with USCHO and will have brand presence during USCHO’s on-site broadcasts in Boston. A representative from DCU will also present the award to the Hockey Humanitarian recipient. The award’s finalists will see DCU make financial donations to the charities they work with.

“The ability to closely align the USCHO name with a national brand like DCU is significant for our organization,” Tim Brule, publisher and CEO of USCHO, said in the statement. “We feel that both the national exposure that DCU will attain along with the critical community relationships that DCU can build through the Hockey Humanitarian Award is a major benefit that will have lasting impact.”
