This morning, local officials – including Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino – and community members from Dorchester House Multi-Service Center broke ground on the renovation and expansion of its health center.

The project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and will expand the health center’s capacity by 25 percent, according to a statement. It will include a wellness center that will offer yoga and exercise classes. The expansion will allow the center to serve 6,600 more patients per year.
