A $166 million dual-branded hotel designed to cater to vacationers, business travelers and conventioneers has opened in the Seaport District following a nearly three-year construction period.
Boston-based Intercontinental Real Estate and Harbinger Development partnered on the 416-room Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton at 670 Summer St.
The 14-story hotel overlooking the Reserved Channel at the entrance to the Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park includes 6,000 square feet of meeting space, including a pair of outdoor decks, an indoor pool, free WiFi, a fitness center, complimentary breakfast and a 24-hour market selling local food, beer and wine.
In 2015, the Boston Economic Development and Industrial Corp. selected Wellesley-based Harbinger Development to construct the hotel on a 1-acre city-owned parcel. Harbinger subsequently brought on Intercontinental as a partner.
