Richard E. Holbrook, chairman and chief executive officer of Eastern Bank Corp., has been elected a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
Holbrook will serve as one of the three Class A directors who represent member banks in the district. He also serves on the executive committees of the Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Massachusetts Bankers Association.
The board has also reappointed and elected several other members to the Fed’s council.
John F. Fish, chairman and chief executive officer of Suffolk Construction Co. Inc., has been reelected a director of the bank. Fish is founder and chairman of the Red and Blue Foundation, Suffolk Construction’s nonprofit initiative. He is a trustee of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and serves on the executive committees of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Jobs for Mass, the Boston Plan for Excellence and the Private Industry Council.
Joseph L. Hooley, chairman, president and chief executive officer of State Street Corp., has been appointed by the board of directors to a one-year term as the Federal Advisory Council (FAC) representative for the First Federal Reserve District.
The FAC meets quarterly to discuss business and financial conditions with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. It is composed of one banker from each of the 12 Federal Reserve Districts. The First Federal Reserve District comprises all of New England except Fairfield County, Conn.
The remainder of the board of directors includes:
- Henri A. Termeer, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Genzyme Corp., will serve as chairman and director.
 - Kirk A. Sykes, president of the Urban Strategy America Fund L.P., will serve as deputy chairman and director.
 - Catherine D’Amato, president and chief executive officer of The Greater Boston Food Bank, will serve as director.
 - David A. Lentini, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Connecticut Bank and Trust Co., will serve as director.
 - William D. Nordhaus, Sterling Professor of Economics at Yale University, will serve as a director.
 - Kathryn G. Underwood, president and chief executive officer of Ledyard National Bank, will serve as a director.
 - Michael T. Wedge, former president and chief executive officer of BJ’s Wholesale Club, will also serve as a director.
