Enterprise Bancorp, parent of Enterprise Bank, may be considering selling up to $25 million in securities and has filed a shelf registration with federal regulators.
The shelf registration is intended to provide the company with the flexibility to raise, over a three-year period, up to $25 million in capital to support future asset growth.
The statement has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, but has not yet become effective.
Pending authorization from the SEC, Enterprise anticipates raising $5 million to $10 million of the $25 million in an initial offering this fall, the company said in a statement.
In a letter to its shareholders, Enterprise officials said, "We are excited and confident about Enterprise’s opportunity over the coming years to acquire new customers, increase market share and expand geographically."
