Burlington-based Erland Construction has completed renovations at Framingham State University, Westfield State University and Springfield College.
At Framingham State, Erland renovated the dining facilities in the McCarthy Center and built a 5,500-square-foot addition. The school plans to use this space for functions and large gatherings, as well as for student dining.
At Westfield State, the construction company replaced the exterior windows and roofs in three apartment-style dormitories. Erland also gave each building new rugs, sinks and mechanical systems. This was the seventh consecutive summer that Erland made dormitory renovations at Westfield State.
At Springfield College, Erland upgraded Locklin Hall, the school’s main classroom building, which was originally built in 1914. Work on the three-story, 64,960-square-foot building included partial window replacement, exterior masonry restoration, a new stairwell addition, lobby upgrades and floor plan reconfigurations. Elrand also gave the building an energy efficient roof. Locklin Hall remained partially operational throughout the construction.
