A 21-court pickleball complex, restaurant and two bars are slated to open this fall at the Natick Mall’s former Neiman Marcus store.

Bosse Pickleball leased 97,455 square feet for 10 years with Bulfinch Cos., owners of the former anchor store at the 1.6-million-square-foot retail property on Route 9.

Bulfinch Cos. previously had proposed a life science redevelopment before pivoting to the entertainment complex, which will include 21 pickleball courts, a training center, two bars and a restaurant affiliated with chef Chris Coombs.

The complex is expected to open this fall, Bulfinch Cos. said this week.

More redevelopment opportunities for mall anchor spaces could be in store following Macy’s announcement this week that it will close 150 stores nationwide. The company has not disclosed locations, but currently operates 16 stores in Massachusetts.

Bosse Sports, owned by former professional tennis player D.J. Bosse, operated a sports club at 141 Boston Post Road in Sudbury for 13 years prior to its closure in 2020. In 2022, the company opened Bosse Sports Training at 1 Westinghouse Plaza in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood.

Leigh Freudenheim represented Bosse Pickleball LLC as the tenant in the Natick transaction, while Scott Black and Andrew Murmes of Atlantic Retail represented the landlord.
