The First Marblehead Corp., a Boston-based large packager of student loans, has reported a net loss of $11.7 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2010, compared to a net loss of $93.4 million for the same period in the prior fiscal year.
Total revenues for the six-month period ended Dec. 31, 2009 were $23.6 million. The net loss for the six-month period was $105.8 million, an improvement over the net loss of $186.3 million for the same period in the prior fiscal year.
