First Republic this week announced a slate of leadership changes in both its bank and subsidiary trust company.
Katherine August-deWilde was appointed to the newly created post of vice chair of the company’s board of directors. She previously was president of First Republic from 2007 to 2015 and was chief operating officer from 1996 to 2014. She originally joined First Republic in 1985 as its initial chief financial officer. The company said in a statement that she will also act as a senior consultant and work with selected major clients and on strategic initiatives.
Kelly Johnston was promoted to president of First Republic Trust Co. She joined the company in 2013 as deputy manager. Johnston has more than 20 years of trust and wealth management experience, and she is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor and a Certified Wealth Strategist.
Michael Harrington, who has been president of First Republic Trust Co. for the past nine years, was also named chairman. Harrington will continue to play a leadership role in the trust company, while serving clients and providing guidance and support on regulatory and business administration.
Finally, Doug Fiek joined First Republic Bank as a managing director and portfolio manager in San Francisco. He previously worked for Credit Suisse Securities LLC in San Francisco and before that, he worked for CS First Boston and was a Certified Public Accountant at PwC.
