Education Development Center Inc. (EDC), a global nonprofit that designs programs to address education, health and economic challenges, will be moving its headquarters to Waltham thanks to an $8.9 million bond issued by MassDevelopment.
EDC will use bond proceeds to renovate a 120,000-square-foot building located at 43 Foundry Ave., according to a statement. The new building will house 450 area employees and include conference space and parking facilities.
"MassDevelopment is very pleased to be able to help EDC as it addresses education and health challenges across Massachusetts, the U.S. and around the world," said MassDevelopment President and CEO Robert L. Culver.
RBS Citizens purchased the bond.
