Korean grocer H-Mart will open its fourth Bay State supermarket in a shopping center on the Medford-Malden border.

The Lyndhurst, New Jersey-based chain operates approximately 90 stores in the U.S., including Massachusetts locations in Burlington, Cambridge and Quincy.

H-Mart will occupy 25,000 square feet in the southern end of the shopping plaza at 295 Middlesex Ave., according to an August 2021 notice of lease filed with the Middlesex County Registry of Deeds.

H-Mart promotional materials now list the Medford store as “coming soon.” An H-Mart spokesperson said an opening date has not been set.

Founded in Queens, New York in 1982, the chain has built a reputation for its wide selection of product and Korean staples such as kimchi, packaged foods and even housewares.

H-Mart opened its first Massachusetts store in Burlington in 2008 and expanded into Cambridge’s Central Square in 2012 and Quincy in August 2022.

Newton-based WS Development’s Town Line Plaza, which straddles the Medford-Malden line at 295 Middlesex Ave., contains 146,000 square feet of retail space.
