Around 20 credit union officials froHarborOne staff with World Council and Brazilian visitors outside HarborOne MultiCultural Banking Center.m Brazil accompanied by two staff members of the World Council of Credit Unions Inc. recently visited HarborOne Credit Union’s MultiCultural Banking Center in downtown Brockton.

The center offers education and other resources to help those most affected by the subprime mortgage crisis and other predatory financial practices, low and moderate-income residents, minorities and immigrants, according to a statement. The visiting Brazilians chose to visit HarborOne to because of this expertise.

"The center is a shining example of what the [credit union] industry in the country should be emulating," said Victor Miguel Corro, senior manager of international partnerships for the World Council. "Helping new immigrants in such an open way is remarkable."
