A 9-story, 289,000-square-foot class A office and lab building that broke ground in July will become the largest life science development in Somerville.
The joint venture by DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners and Leggat McCall Properties is marketing the space at 101 South St. to emerging life science companies. The building, which will include first-floor retail and community arts space and four underground parking levels, is scheduled for core-and-shell completion in spring 2021.
101 South St. will be the first phase of a master-planned development by the development team in the Boynton Yards neighborhood.
The project team includes architects Spagnolo Gisness & Assoc. and Hashim Sarkis Studios; general contractor Shawmut Design and Construction and leasing agent Cushman & Wakefield.
