A German company that specializes in automated microscope-based imaging systems will relocate its local offices from Newton to Medford’s River’s Edge.

MetaSystems Group, a subsidiary of MetaSystems International, leased 9,100 square feet at 200 River’s Edge in the mixed-use development on the Malden River.

The company is scheduled to take occupancy in September, master developer Preotle, Lane & Assoc. Ltd. said.

Cresa’s Mark Coelho and Allison Hoffman represented Cresa in the lease negotiation, while CBRE’s Eric Smith, McKenna Teague and Tess Chandler represented ownership.

The 30-acre River’s Edge development transformed a brownfield site near the Medford-Everett line into 230,000 square feet of office and lab space in two buildings, 504 apartments, a riverfront park and retail tenants including Freerange Market and Cafe, the River Cafe and The Porch barbecue restaurant.
