Investing banking firm Covington Assoc. has leased 7,109 square feet at 99 Summer St. in downtown Boston.

The firm, currently is based at 265 Franklin St. in the Financial District, will relocate Oct. 1.

Cresa Boston’s Rick Lowe represented Covington Assoc. in the transaction and Cresa’s Barry Dubé and Mike McCormick are overseeing the buildout on behalf of Cresa’s project management group.

The firm sought a new location with full-service building amenities and proximity to South Station, according to a press release.

JLL represented landlord Rockpoint Group LLC. Rockpoint acquired the 20-story, 272,614-square-foot tower in December for $132 million.
