J.F. & P. Realty Trust of Stow has been fined $6,400 for failing to notify the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) within 120 days of learning about a release of oil above state standards at its Maynard properties.

Properties located at 145 and 146 Great Road both had that petroleum contamination in the groundwater was above the reportable concentrations, according to a statement. MassDEP was not notified until three years after this discovery.

"Prompt notification is critical to expedite cleanup of contaminated property" said Martin Suuberg, director of MassDEP’s Central Regional Office in Worcester.
