John R. Riley has been appointed managing director of foreign exchange at First Republic Bank’s Boston office.
Riley, who has 20 years of banking and currency risk advisory experience, will help manage the foreign exchange needs of clients in New England and New York. Riley will be based at the bank’s office at 160 Federal St. in Boston.
Riley joins a growing team of foreign exchange professionals at First Republic Bank. The bank’s foreign exchange group serves a wide array of business clients, including asset managers and investment management companies; privately held middle market companies, and professional services firms in the legal, accounting and consulting sectors; educational institutions; and other nonprofit organizations.

Prior to joining First Republic, Riley worked for Royal Bank of Scotland as senior vice president and corporate risk manager. Before that, he worked for Key Bank as foreign exchange advisor.
