Quincy-based general contractor Lee Kennedy Co. recently expanded its sales and estimating staff with two hires.

Steve Flanagan joined the company as senior director to lead sales efforts in the academic market, and Jim McIntyre joined the firm’s interiors group as an estimator.

Flanagan has more than 20 years of industry experience, including work as an architect, construction project manager and business development executive. He joins Lee Kennedy from Suffolk Construction, where he most recently managed business development for the academic sector.

McIntyre joins the firm from Shawmut Design and Construction, where he worked as an estimator in the New England group. McIntyre also spent five years with JK Scanlan Co., where he served in the same capacity.

Additionally, seven staff members at Lee Kennedy Co. recently earned LEED accreditation: Project Managers Marc Buchan, Brian Kelley, Pam Bailey, Stephanie Swartz and Matt Gagnon, Superintendent Bill Traill and Field Engineer Jasyn Johnson.

More than half of Lee Kennedy Co.’s supervisory and management staff is now LEED accredited. The company said it is on track to have all operations and estimating staff achieve LEED AP status by the close of 2009.
