(LCU) recently gave a $25,000 gift to Fitchburg State University, and as a result, a conference room will named for the organization.
The conference room is part of a renovation of the university’s Hammond Campus Center, according to a statement.
LCU also committed to funding two annual $500 scholarships to students from Worcester County who are involved in community service.
"Leominster Credit Union is delighted to partner with Fitchburg State University on these two initiatives," said Leominster Credit Union President and CEO Gordon Edmonds. "Supporting efforts that promote financial literacy and community service are core values at LCU."
"This major gift represents yet another community investment on the part of Leominster Credit Union," said Fitchburg State University President Robert V. Antonucci. "The new conference rooms in the renovated Hammond Campus Center will provide our students and staff with much-needed space, and the scholarship support will make a positive difference in the lives of our students."
