The most expensive listing in the history of Martha’s Vineyard just got even more expensive.
The oceanfront acreage surrounding Homer’s Pond was put on the market last year for $92 million, the previous record-high listing. Last week, owner Gerald DeBlois re-listed the property, adding a 50-acre parcel to the listing, which includes a 5,600 square foot home with its own tennis court, sauna, steam room, spa, heated salt-water pool and a wine cellar with room for 12,000 bottles.
The new additions increase the total acreage available for purchase to 314 acres from 264 acres and include 1,200 feet of private beach. The asking price for the whole estate is now at $118 million, the highest in Martha’s Vineyard history.
"Homer’s Pond is so large and secluded that one might call it a private kingdom," listing agent Charles Carlson, owner of South Light Property, said in a statement.
The property has been divided into parcels available for separate purchase; some of the land is developable while other portions are conservation restricted. The property had previously been listed with Thomas Wallace of Wallace & Co. Sotheby’s International Realty.
