MBA_images_headerThe Massachusetts Bankers Association (MBA) elected 10 executives to serve in new positions on its board of directors including Kenneth C. Brennan, president & CEO of Auburndale’s The Village Bank, as its chairman.

The executives and their new MBA board positions include:

Vice president: Norman S. Seppala, president of Granite Savings Bank in Rockport; treasurer: Dorothy A. Savarese, president of Orleans’ Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank and immediate past chairman: Christopher Oddleifson, president of Rockland Trust Co.

The following will serve as at-large directors for a three-year terms: Mark Crandall, state president of TD Bank in Massachusetts; Richard A. Eaton, president of Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank; Elizabeth P. Jones, president of Everett Co-operative Bank; Joseph V. Roller, II, president of Cambridge Trust Co.; and Norman B. Williamson, chairman of Commonwealth Co-operative Bank in Hyde Park.

Donna L. Brady, senior vice president of government affairs for RBS Citizens in Providence, R.I., will serve a one-year term.

"This is as fine a group of members as we have ever had to serve on our board," said Daniel J. Forte, president and CEO of the MBA. "The experience they bring to the table will serve us well in the year ahead as the banking industry faces many challenges. Ken Brennan, our chairman, is an esteemed community banker who brings a wealth of knowledge and talent that we will use to our advantage as we navigate through changing seas over the next year."

Brennan has nearly 40 years of banking experience, becoming the CEO of The Village Bank in 1991.

"The banking industry is facing challenges on many fronts," said Brennan. "In the year ahead we will work tirelessly to promote the value that banking brings to our society and move to develop thoughtful changes that benefit both customers and institutions."
