The Franklin Police Department is currently searching for two suspects involved in a bank robbery yesterday on Franklin Village Drive.
At approximately 11:40 a.m., a police officer on duty at the Franklin Village Shopping Center was approached by a resident who reported seeing two people wearing hoods and masks enter the Middlesex Savings Bank.
As the officer approached the bank, two individuals ran out of the building. The officer ordered them to stop and they refused, leading to a short foot pursuit. Both individuals then got into a parked vehicle at a nearby gas station and fled.
According to police, the two suspects entered the bank, ordered all patrons to get on the ground and demanded money from the tellers. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was shown.
Police are searching for the suspects, described as two males wearing hoods, gloves and masks making further identification nearly impossible. One of the males is believed to be light-skinned. The vehicle is a dark-colored Volkswagen sedan, most likely a Passat or a Jetta.
