Nashoba Learning Group Inc., which serves individuals with autism, has acquired 170 Lexington Road in Billerica for $3 million.
Avison Young Principals Jack Kerrigan and Steve Cook represented NLG in the sale. JLL Managing Director Matt Daniels and Executive Vice President Christopher Lawrence represented the seller, CrossHarbor Capital Partners LLC.
Built in 1997, 170 Lexington Road is a two-story, 33,802-square-foot office building located off Route 3. NLG originally leased the second floor of 170 Lexington Road in 2012 to develop and operate its adult day program, which provides ongoing job and community support to adults with autism. NLG plans to continue to expand the adult program on the second floor of 170 Lexington Road.
In 2007, Kerrigan and Cook represented NLG in the purchase of its first location, 10 Oak Park Drive in Bedford, which is home to its school program, serving 90 students ages 3 to 21. NLG will open a second site for the school program on the first floor of 170 Lexington Road.
"In Billerica, we will be able to accommodate 40 additional students in our new school site on the first floor and grow to serve 50 adults on the second floor. For these individuals with autism, access to the services and highly trained staff NLG provides makes an enormous difference in their lives," Elizabeth Martineau, president of Nashoba Learning Group, said in a statement.
