Needham Bank and its holding firm NB Bancorp Inc. appointed a new chief financial officer, Jean-Pierre Lapointe, effective Feb. 1.

Lapointe is the bank’s new CFO and executive vice president, replacing Danielle Walsh for the CFO role. Walsh will remain in the bank and company through March 29 to assist in transitioning her duties and responsibilities to Lapointe, the bank said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Lapointe was previously a CFO at the $3 billion-asset Northeast Bank with branches in Maine, New York and Boston. He is a certified public accountant with a 13-year experience at Wolf & Co. where he advanced to senior manager serving financial institution clients.

“We are pleased to add a finance professional with JP’s years of experience in public accounting, auditing, and public bank management to our dynamic team. JP will provide leadership, financial reporting guidance, oversee investor relations, and ensure financial compliance as we begin our journey as a public institution,” Joseph P. Campanelli, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Needham Bank and its holding company.

Lapointe is a former president and officer of the Financial Managers Society Boston chapter.
