Needham Bank, a customer-owned bank with five branches across the Bay State, recently named Mark Whalen as executive vice president, operating from the bank’s main office in Needham.

In this role, Whalen, who prior to his promotion was a senior vice president, is involved with all phases of the bank’s operations.

Whalen has nearly 28 years of experience in the banking industry and is the former president/CEO of the Dedham Cooperative Bank. He joined Needham Bank in March 2007 when the two institutions merged.

Whalen sits on the board of directors of the Dedham Historical Society and is also a member of the board of directors of the Southwest Affordable Housing Partnership.
