Alan McClennen Jr. has been elected chairman of the board of trustees of the Cambridge Financial Group, the holding company for Cambridge Savings Bank.
McClennen replaces Kevin Fitzgerald, a 46-year bank employee who most recently served as chairman of the board from 2007 to 2009.
Fitzgerald is retiring from his role as chairman but will continue to serve as a trustee.
McClennen served as director of planning and development for the town of Arlington from 1974 to 2003. He currently is a private planning and development consultant. He has served on the Cambridge Savings Bank executive committee and chaired both the corporate governance and compensation committees.
In related moves, Robert W. Murray, president and chief executive officer of Murray Hills Inc., was elected chairman of the corporate governance committee of the Cambridge Financial Group.
Anne Adams Cushman, principal/owner of Advise and Consult, was elected a member of the corporate governance committee.
Both are long time Cambridge Financial Group trustees and directors of Cambridge Savings Bank.
Agnes Bundy Scanlan Esq., counsel at Goodwin Procter, was elected to the Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation, and also serves as a corporator of the Cambridge Financial Group.
