Four of Boston-based architectural design firm Payette’s projects were recently recognized with industry design awards.
The Brandeis University, Carl J. Shapiro Science Center received two awards – the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) – Education Facilities Design Award and an Excellence in Architecture Award from the Society for College & University Planners (SCUP) and the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA-CAE), according to a statement. The BSA award is given for design excellence and recognizes an education facility built anywhere in the world designed by a New England or New York architect/firm, or any education facility built in New England or New York by any architect/firm anywhere in the world. The SCUP and AIA-CAE award recognizes excellence in planning, design and implementation efforts of firms and institutions.
Payette’s University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Integrated Science Building project also received the Boston Society of Architects – Education Facilities Design Award.
The University of Massachusetts, Worcester, Ambulatory Care Center project was named the Construction Management Association of American (CMAA), New England Chapter’s Building Project of the Year. The University of Massachusetts Ambulatory Care Center was honored for projects greater than $100 million.
The Princeton University, Frick Chemistry Laboratory project received the American Institute of Architects NJ Chapter – Merit Award. The awards program brings public and professional recognition to architectural projects that exhibit design excellence, according to a statement. Projects must either be located in New Jersey or designed by an AIA New Jersey architect.
