Swansea-based BayCoast Mortgage Co. has hired Daniel Kirschner as a mortgage loan officer.

The company also announced Senior Vice President and Sales Manager Nicholas Christ has completed the American Bankers Association’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

Bay State Savings Bank

Worcester-based Bay State Savings Bank has hired Heather Loranger, late the vice president of deposit operations for Cornerstone Bank, as its new operations officer.

Bernkopf Goodman 

The Boston law firm of Bernkopf Goodman announced two partners, Ken Goldberg and Neil Markson, are leaving the firm to start a small practice in Wellesley, where Goldberg lives.

Brookline Bank

Brookline Bank has named Melissa Guzman as the new president of its Putterham Circle branch. Guzman was most recently director of assessing services for the city of Boston.

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston has hired Joel Werkema as its new vice president and public information officer. Werkema’s predecessor, Thomas Lavelle, retired from the Boston Fed in June after 25 years at the bank.

Hanover-based Rockland Trust has appointed Brian Rocha as vice president and plan services financial consultant, a newly-created role. Rocha will work with companies to craft retirement plans.

Michigan-based law firm Orlans announced its Boston-based Senior Executive Counsel Julie Moran has been awarded the inaugural #NEXTPowerhouseAward, honoring the most influential women in the mortgage industry. The award was created by NEXT, a women’s mortgage industry networking and career advancement organization.
