Revere planning officials have green-lit another large apartment complex overlooking Revere Beach, this time far to the north of the MBTA’s Wonderland Blue Line and bus station.

An affiliate of Dallas, Texas multifamily developer Mill Creek Residential had proposed 360 units on top of and partially wrapping around a 3-story parking podium containing 570 spaces.

The site at 548-580 Revere Beach Blvd. is currently vacant, but includes a former railroad right-of-way that some had eyed as a potential route for extending the Blue Line to downtown Lynn. In communicating planners’ approval of the project, city Chief Planner Frank Stringi noted that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation will need to issue a waiver to allow construction on the right-of-way. The site also abuts the 234-unit Beach House apartment complex, part of the first wave of new multifamily project that began sprouting up in place of restaurants and vacant lots along the beach in the last decade.

Plans filed with the city state most of the building will be made up to studio or one-bedroom units – 261 in all – plus 60 two-bedrooms and 19 three-bedrooms. No retail space is described on the plans, but the first floor includes a 2,595-square-foot, double-height amenity/flex space next to the lobby. That space will be in addition to 5,378 square feet of indoor amenity spaces, two large courtyards and a nearly 9,000-square-foot pool area on the second floor.
