The South Eastern Economic Development (SEED) Corp. has awarded a pair of loans to Scituate Package Store in Scituate and Rosie’s Liquor in Abington. The loans totaled $683,000 and will enable the businesses to expand and create ­nine new jobs.

Scituate Package Store was provided with a $227,000 loan under the SBA 504 Program for the purchase of a 4,112-square-foot building at 184 Front St., along with furniture, fixtures and equipment.

“SEED’s loan programs made it possible for me to take my business to the next level and purchase a building,” Elie Houayes, owner of Scituate Package Store, said in a statement.

Rosie’s Liquor, recently purchased by Suhas Patel, received a $456,000 loan under the SBA 504 Program for the purchase of a 7,389-square-foot building at 751 Bedford Str. The project created five new jobs.

“Working with SEED was a wonderful experience and made getting the loan for my business much easier,” Patel said in a statement.
