North Andover-based property management company Shawmut Property Management has expanded its condo maintenance division with 18 new employees.
The increase in hiring is partially due to seasonal demand, but is also due to an overall expansion in business, particularly within the area of maintenance, the company said.
"Having an in-house maintenance crew is much more cost effective than having to sub-out the work to contractors that have a lot of other condos and companies to deal with," said Andrew Raynor, president and CEO of Shawmut. "Having them on staff also allows us to be more pro-active and work with our condo associations to help them reduce costs through regular maintenance and other cost savings programs."
