Shawn Hurley has been named development director for Skanska USA’s commercial development unit in Boston.

In his new role, Hurley will be responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and managing new investment opportunities, as well as securing approvals and overseeing construction and leasing of development projects. He will be based in the Boston office.

Hurley previously served as regional partner at Urban Residential LLC where he was responsible for all investment and development activities of the Boston and Philadelphia offices.

Hurley is a LEED accredited professional and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s degree in real estate development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for Real Estate.
