Somers Named Trustee At Senior Housing Properties Trust

Jeffrey P. Somers has been appointed an independent trustee to fill a vacancy on the board of trustees for Senior Housing Properties Trust of Newton.

Somers has been a partner of the law firm of Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton PC of Waltham since 1995. Prior to that, he was in private law practice as a partner with the law firm of Gadsby & Hannah LLP (now McCarter & English, LLP) of Boston, during which time he also served as chairman of the securities law committee of the business law section of the Boston Bar Association.

Somers will serve as a trustee of SNH until the term expires at the 2009 SNH annual meeting of shareholders, when he is expected to stand for election by SNH shareholders, according to the trust.
