Synergy Investment and Development has closed on 253 Summer St., purchasing the building overlooking Boston’s Fort Point Channel for $40 million.
The 175,000-square-foot property is 92 percent occupied, and Synergy is "aggressively" marketing the remaining space, according to Stephen Brodsky, Synergy’s chief operating officer.
The purchase comes on the heels of two other recent Boston acquisitions by Synergy, 101 Summer St. and 10 Fawcett St. The company assumes a mortgage as part of the deal, but Brodsky declined to offer details.
While Brodsky said the company would consider purchasing an entire block of properties if the opportunity arose, Synergy is not interested in razing buildings.
"At today’s prices, you really can’t find opportunities like that," he said.
Cushman and Wakefield’s Robert Griffin and Edward Maher brokered the deal for the seller, the Beacon Cos.
